Consortium for Algal Biofuels Commercialization (CAB-Comm)

In 2010 the then San Diego Center for Algae Biotechnology won a  four-year, eleven million dollar grant from the Department of Energy to create a Consortium for Algal Biofuels Commercialization. The Consortium spans 20 faculty members across five academic institutions and collaborates with two industry partners. CAB-Comm was awarded the grant to study three aspects of the algal biofuels value chain: Crop Protection, Nutrient Utilization and Recycling, and Genetic Tools.
